LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY OF PILE
 AS PER IS: 2911
( Actual Program is included in Super Civil CD )

 PROGRAM INFO / LIMITATIONS.

The static formula is used to calculate pile capacity.
This program permits only fifteen (15) layers of soil data.
Load carrying capacity is obtained after applying a factor of safety of 2.5 .
It is assumed that 67 % of the pile resistance ( skin friction ) is expected to be     mobilized  during uplift .
In calculation of value of ALPHA the values corresponding to bored piles    are assumed.
Value of NC is taken as 9.00 as per code guide lines.
Value of K (coefficient of earth pressure )  is taken as 1.00 in calculation .
Vertical load carrying capacity is least of the following.
        Capacity based on Skin friction + End bearing.
        Capacity of plain concrete section.
Lateral load capacity of pile is taken as average of fixed + free head  conditions.
Lateral load carrying capacity is least of the following.
        Capacity based on allowable lateral deflection of 5 mm.
        5 % of vertical capacity of pile.
E = 5000 * FCK  ^ 0.50.
Value of ALPHA corresponding to value of N, and value of K1 & K2 corresponding     to values of N & CU  are as under.
