DESIGN OF ISOLATED REINFORCED CONCRETE FOUNDATION / FOOTING AS IS-456-2000.

This program designs  reinforced concrete isolated foundation / footing under axial  compression or tension and uni-axial bending moment. 
Foundation could be designed as of uniform thickness or of tapered thickness.
Tapered foundation is designed only under axial compression, no applied moment is allowed.
Development of tension is not allowed in foundation, that means eccentricity greater than Length or  width / 6 of foundation is not allowed.
Side face reinforcement shall be provided for depth greater than 1000 mm. The total area of steel  shall not be less than 3.6 cm2/m per face.
f y = 415 N/mm2  (Characteristic strength of reinforcement)
Minimum  steel shall not be less than 0.12 %. 
Factor of safety against over turning is taken as 1. 2 
Density of soil is taken as 1.8 t / m3.
