DESIGN OF LIQUID RETAINING MEMBER AS PER IS-3370.

 PROGRAM INFO / LIMITATIONS.
( Actual program is available in Super Civil CD )

This program designs reinforced concrete beam/slab/wall liquid retaining member as per the given loading .
In crack control calculations, moment of inertia of concrete is only considered, contribution of reinforcement is neglected.
f ' y  = 415 N/mm2 .
Reinforcement spacing is restricted to 300 MM.
The program designs the member as "Plain Concrete" member, if the gross tensile stress is within  the permissible limit. This is as per the code guide lines.
The permissible flexural/axial tension is taken as 0.70 * sqrt (Fck) / 3. The factor of  safety is taken as 3.0.
Crack width calculations are given for academic purpose only. It may noted that in most of the cases the crack width is far less than permissible  0.10 mm. The formula given in IS 456-2000 is used for crack width calculations. Effect of axial loads are not considered in these calculations.
Some salient features of CODE are as under.
