Working stress method is used in design of ring wall foundation.
For members in direct tension when full tension is taken up by reinforcement alone, the tensile stress in concrete shall not be greater than the following.
concrete grade M10 M15 M20 M25 M30 M35 M40
tensile stress {n/mm2} 1.2 2.0 2.8 3.2 3.6 4.0 4.4
Minimum thickness of wall is considered as 150 MM.
Wind / seismic loads shall be carried by ring foundation alone.
Minimum horizontal steel shall be 0.20 %.
Minimum vertical steel shall be 0.12 %.
Spacing of bars shall not exceed the least of following.
3 x wall thickness
450 MM.
Lap length for horizontal bars shall be 2 x Ld for tension.
